Started out by searching for golf balls as an 11 year old at Brynhill Golf Club in Wales before enjoying a successful amateur career - the highlight being victory in the Amateur Championship in 1989. Became the ninth player to have won on all three levels of the European Tour with victory at the 2016 Senior Italian Open, adding to his three European Tour titles and 1992 Challenge Tour victory. Added the inaugural Farmfoods European Senior Masters title to his trophy cabinet in 2017, securing his second win in as many years on the Senior Tour.
