Has six European Tour wins to his name, including four on home soil, and in 13 full European Tour campaigns since 2003 has not finished outside the top 80 in the Race to Dubai. Has in between been hampered by injury for several full campaigns.

Established his credentials by dominating South Africa’s amateur scene, becoming only the second player, after Trevor Immelman, to win both the junior and senior National Stroke Play and Match Play titles. Turned professional in 2001 and graduated from the Challenge Tour in 2002.

Comes from a sporting family with his father involved in motor racing, his mother an ice-skater and sister, Farrah, one of the top squash players in South Africa.

Took up the game at the age of four, when he went out with his grandmother to play.
